A woman from Virginia won $50,000 in a digital lottery game and then hit a $912,936 jackpot in the same game just one week later.
Jennifer Minton of Gloucester played Virginia Lottery's Safari Quest game online early October to win the $50,000. She felt life couldn't get any better until she played again the following week.
Minton was playing Safari Quest on her mobile phone again around a campfire on Oct. 15 when the jackpot reset. She saw the jackpot go down and thought she didn't win, according to the Virginia Lottery.
As Minton peered closely at her computer screen, she realized that she was the one responsible for the jackpot reset. She had struck gold for the second time, winning $912,936 from the game.
"I'm in shock!" she told the Lottery while claiming her prize. "I'm in disbelief!"
What is Safari Quest?
The Virginia Lottery's mobile app offers numerous online games, among which Safari Quest is one. In this game, players can bet anywhere between $0.20 and $50 per play. To win a prize, three or more symbols must be matched in the digital prize area.
What are the odds of winning Safari Quest?
Safari Quest launched in October. The odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.84.
